Every year we get the same email in March: we're coming in July, can you get us permits? Sometimes we can. Often we cannot, and it is the one part of the trip we genuinely cannot fix at short notice.

What a permit costs

A permit covers one hour with one gorilla family, on one specific date, in one specific sector. It is not transferable between sectors — a Buhoma permit will not get you onto a Ruhija trail.

Book the permit before the flights

If your dates are fixed, buy the permit first and treat everything else as movable.
